Autumn is when teams regroup after the summer, set the goals for the year's final stretch and, often, start planning the Christmas get-together. There is no better boardroom for any of it than the deck of a private sailboat on the Douro: no screens, no slides, just your people, a shared challenge, and the city sliding by towards the Atlantic.

A sailboat only moves when people pull together. What a day on board looks like

You step aboard to a welcome drink, the whole boat yours. From there it is yours to shape: a hands-on sailing lesson where the crew splits the jobs around the group, a friendly regatta between departments, an on-board treasure hunt, or simply a relaxed cruise with time to talk. Whatever the mix, it ends the same way, a toast with Tawny Port and chocolate as the sun drops over the water.

Built around your goals

No two teams want the same day, so none of ours are the same. Keep it light with a social sail to say thank you, or structure it with facilitated games built for communication and problem-solving. Entertain clients and partners with the wind in the sails, host a working lunch or dinner on the water, or close a quarter in style. Tell us the objective and we build the route, the timing and the little surprises around it.

Autumn is corporate-event season for a reason. The summer crowds are gone, weekday availability opens up, the weather stays mild and the light turns gold earlier, so even a late-afternoon session finishes at golden hour. It is the ideal window for an incentive day, a team offsite or an early Christmas celebration, before the diary fills up.

The practical details

Our sailboat takes up to 10 guests; for larger groups we run a 10-guest yacht, so most teams and celebrations fit comfortably. Events run from a couple of hours to a full day, departing from Douro Marina in Afurada. Catering, an on-board bar, audiovisual kit, music and professional photo or video are all available on request, arranged around your group.
