Who we are
Port Sailors® is a family-run sailing-tour company in Porto, Portugal, offering private and small-group sailboat cruises on the Douro River and out to the Atlantic Ocean. Founded by Rui and Patrícia, we share the city we love from the water — unhurried, personal, and a little bit magical.
Port Sailors is a licensed tourist-maritime operator (RNAAT 1288/2024, Turismo de Portugal), and every sailing is hosted by our own crew in English, Portuguese, German, French and Spanish.
The boat
Our sailboat is the S/Y Azimuth, a 12-metre Jeanneau Sun Odyssey with a spacious sun deck, a comfortable cabin, an onboard restroom and a small bar. She welcomes up to 10 guests on a private charter — large enough to celebrate, small enough to stay personal.
Where we sail
We cast off from Douro Marina in Afurada (São Pedro da Afurada, Vila Nova de Gaia), about ten minutes from Porto’s city centre. From there we glide down the Douro past the Ribeira and the port-wine cellars of Gaia, under the city’s six bridges, and out to the river mouth at Foz where the Douro meets the Atlantic. The Atlantic-facing sunset sail is our signature route in Porto.
How we host
Every experience opens with a welcome Port Tonic, and our sunset cruise includes a Tawny Port and chocolate pairing on board. Whether it is a quiet anniversary, a proposal, a family outing or corporate team building, the whole boat is yours — we tailor the route, the pace and the little touches to your occasion.
